Words can hardly do justice to the breathtaking experience of witnessing the Northern Lights. We’re certain that once you see them, you’ll treasure the memory forever.

That’s why we’ve designed our Northern Lights tour to focus on the experience. Our adventure begins with careful planning, using the latest Aurora forecast to guide us toward the best possible viewing locations.

Travel in comfort aboard our cozy minibuses, with small groups capped at just 19 people to ensure a more personal and enjoyable outing.

When the magical lights make their appearance, we stop to take in the spectacle, wrapping up in warm Icelandic wool blankets and gazing in awe at the dancing sky. To make the moment even more special, we’ll treat you to delicious hot chocolate and traditional Icelandic kleina pastries—all included in the tour price.

How it works:

Each day, we carefully review the evening’s forecast. For the tour to go ahead, we need to see at least moderate Aurora activity and a clear sky. If conditions look good, we confirm the tour on our website and via email. Be sure to check your inbox (and spam folder) for updates!

Even with the best guides and forecasts, we can’t guarantee a sighting. If the Northern Lights remain elusive during your tour, don’t worry! You’re welcome to join us again another night—completely free of charge. Just contact us at info@yourfriendinreykjavik.com by 14:00 the next day to rebook (subject to availability).

Refunds are only available if we have to cancel due to adverse weather and you’re unable to reschedule.

Please note: Restroom facilities outside urban areas are limited during Northern Lights tours.
