Naples Private Shore excursion: The Pompeii, Sorrento and Positano tour of natural beauty

This tour invites you to spend two full hours exploring the excavations of Pompeii. Unbelievably the city was engulfed when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 BC and was preserved for eternity by the volcanic ash. Your guide will explain and illustrate the history of the eruption, pointing out the fascinating stories of the many buildings that have stood the test of time.

From there you will be escorted along the Amalfi coastline to the incredible town of Positano. Built on a mountainside that drops into the ocean, the houses look as if they will slide down the mountain and into the water. Take time for many photo opportunities of the towns and sea vistas. Next, it’s on to Sorrento, with its historical buildings and winding shopping streets, selling local arts and crafts and great food. Taste the local Limoncello. Yes, this is where it comes from, the unique, delicious alcoholic drink made from lemons grown all along the coast.
