Stockholm Shore Excursion

The highlight of the tour is a visit to the city Hall ( Stadshuset) venue of the annual Nobel Prize Banquet ) where we enjoy a guided tour of the red brick structure. The fortress-like building is known for its tower topped with 3 golden crowns ( the emblem of Sweden). Then continue to Gamla Stan ( Old Town) founded in 1252 ,enjoy a walk through the narrow cobbled streets, alleys and medieval atmosphere of the 16th to 18th century. We stop by Stortorget ( great square) home to the Nobel museum, the Swedish Academy. Then , board a ferry ( across the harbor) to Djurgarden known as the city park and recreation centre. On the island, we visit the world famous museum the Vasamuseet. The Vasa, the flagship of the imperial navy sunk on its maiden voyage in 1628 . Over three hundred years later, in 1961 it was finally salvaged from the bottom of the sea. Today, on exhibition in the museum and considered as the best preserved warship from the 17th century. We conclude the tour with a drive to your hotel ( or cruise terminal).
