  • Insulation: Fleece or down jacket for warmth
  • Outer shell: Waterproof & windproof jacket/pants (Gore-Tex or similar)
  • Trekking pants & shirts: Lightweight, quick-dry
  • Gloves: Warm inner & waterproof outer
  • Hat & buff: Sun hat, beanie & neck gaiter for warmth and dust
  • Underwear & socks: Comfortable and breathable (multiple pairs)

Footwear

  • Trekking boots: Well-broken-in, ankle-supporting
  • Camp shoes/slippers: For evenings at tea houses

  • Backpack: 35–45L daypack (with rain cover)
