6 days Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek in Bhutan

Description

The Dragala Trek is the only short trek in Bhutan that offers views of all the high mountain peaks, including the world’s third-highest peak, Mt. Kanchenjunga, which stands at 8,586 meters, as well as several other high peaks in Nepal. This trek is also known for its numerous lakes at higher altitudes, which is why it is referred to as the "Dragala Thousand Lakes Trek." However, there are conflicting opinions regarding the existence of 1,000 lakes in the Dragala area. An elderly horseman from the region recalls hearing from his parents that there were actually 105 lakes; some stories even suggest that there were more than 1,000 lakes in the past. The trek primarily has two routes: one starting at Talakha Gompa and passing through Serbithang, Wangdi, Dochu La, and Daga in Dagana, ending about 2 km south of Chhuzom near Lebchi.
