1. Arrival in Montalcino (10:30 am)
Explore the medieval charm of Montalcino through the narrow streets of the city. Highlights include its imposing fortress, the Castle of Montalcino, which offers incredible panoramic views of the wine region. A charming destination for those seeking an authentic experience in Tuscany, combining history, stunning landscapes, and of course, great wine.
2. Arrival at Pecorino Farm - Tour and Full Lunch (12:00 pm)
GUIDED VISIT TO THE CHEESE AND WINE FARM WITH LUNCH
During the guided tour of the farm, you will see firsthand what it means to live a peasant life here in Val D'Orcia. You will learn about the daily life on the farm, from the stable to the dairy. The tour will continue at the cheese factory where you can learn the secrets and observe the making of cheeses including the traditional Pecorino. The tour ends with a sit-down lunch featuring raw milk cheeses, wine, cured meats, first course, second course with meat, and dessert. (Possible to request a vegetarian menu)
3. Val D'Orcia: Stop at a strategic point and beautiful roads with cypresses of Val D'Orcia to take beautiful photos
4. Arrival in Pienza (3:30 pm)
Founded in the 15th century by Pope Pius II, who wanted to transform his hometown into an ideal example of a Renaissance city, Pienza is known for its well-preserved Renaissance architecture.
The city features narrow cobblestone streets, picturesque squares, and beautiful historical buildings, such as the Cathedral of Pienza and the Piccolomini Palace.
In addition to its stunning architecture, Pienza is also famous for its pecorino cheeses, especially aged pecorino, which is one of the most appreciated Italian cheeses. Visitors can taste and purchase local cheeses at various shops and cheese factories in Pienza.
The city also offers breathtaking views of the Tuscan landscape, with rolling green hills, vineyards, and olive groves stretching to the horizon. Strolling through the streets of Pienza and enjoying the natural beauty around is a truly charming experience.
6. Return with arrival at (6:30 pm) - We will end our tour where you prefer: At your Hotel or Piazzale Michelangelo for a beautiful sunset, or at Florence's largest shopping mall, I Gigli.
