Florence’s Uffizi and Accademia Galleries Private Walking Tour

Description

You’ll kick things off with a visit to the Accademia Gallery, home to Michelangelo’s iconic statue of David. Your guide is an expert on Renaissance art, so they’ll tell you the story of how the legendary artist crafted this piece, which is widely regarded to be artistically perfect. There’s a bunch of his other statues on show here, as well, along with paintings from the 15th century.

You’ll take a break from art for a bit as you make your way to the other gallery on the itinerary, the Uffizi Gallery. The journey there takes you through the Piazza del Duomo, home to Florence’s 800-year-old cathedral, and the Piazza della Signoria, where Florence’s government is based. Finally, when you reach the Uffizi Gallery, you’ll be shown around the collection, which includes work by Leonardo Da Vinci, Raphael, Caravaggio and more. All of these artists are considered masters of the Renaissance, and you’ll hear about each of their stories right up until it’s time for the gallery to close.
