Cameron Falls Nature walk

Description

Cameron Falls - is a beautiful waterfall located in the Hidden Lake Territorial Park,  just a short drive from Yellowknife, NWT. Unlike the rocky mountain waterfalls of Alberta, this cascade flows over ancient Precambrian shield bedrock, surrounded by boreal forest and rugged northern wilderness.

The falls are most impressive in late spring and early summer when snowmelt increases water flow, but they remain scenic year-round. In winter, the falls freeze into a stunning icy formation, making it a unique sight for visitors.

A moderate hiking trail- (about 3 km round trip) leads to the falls, offering great opportunities for photography, birdwatching, and even spotting wildlife like foxes or bald eagles. The serene, remote setting makes it a perfect escape into nature without venturing far from Yellowknife.

A must-visit for those exploring Canada’s Northwest Territories!
