Chiang Mai Full-Day Adventure: Trekking, River Tubing & Elephant Feeding

Description

Hike, float, and meet gentle giants. This full-day program combines a guided jungle trek, a relaxing river tubing float (≈ 50–75 min), and ethical elephant feeding (≈ 20–30 min) at a nearby partner camp. Start from Chiang Mai in the morning, enjoy lunch by the river, and return early evening. Small groups, friendly local guides, and all safety gear are included—non-swimmers welcome (life jackets provided).

Highlights

  • Morning jungle trek through teak & bamboo forest with scenic viewpoints
  • Easy, scenic river tubing along jungle banks and mountain views
  • Calm, respectful hand-feeding of rescued elephants (guided by carers)
  • Lunch included, plus water refills (bring a reusable bottle)
  • Round-trip transfers from selected Chiang Mai city areas

Animal welfare & ENP note
We follow strict welfare standards: no riding, no shows, no forced contact. During the tubing section we float past the boundary of Elephant Nature Park—no entry to the park, no affiliation, and wildlife sightings are not guaranteed.

Who it’s for
Active couples, friends, and families (recommended age 8+ for trekking; 6+ welcome if comfortable with walking and water).

Pick-up & timings (typical)

  • 07:30–08:00 city pick-up
  • 17:00 depart the base; 18:30–19:00 drop-off back in Chiang Mai
Order/timing may change with weather and river level for safety.

Sustainability & Community Impact

This experience is part of Tubing Chiang Mai’s Eco Community Project. We keep groups small, stay on existing paths, and follow strict welfare: no riding, no shows, and no forced contact—interactions happen calmly at the elephants’ pace. We operate low-plastic and provide chilled water refills; please bring a reusable bottle. A share of proceeds maintains jungle trails, funds litter clean-ups, and supplies first-aid kits for community rangers.

One Tree, One Trip
For every booking, we plant one native tree with the local village network to help restore river and forest habitats in the Mae Taeng valley. When conditions allow, guests may help plant or sign a tag for a sapling; otherwise, our team plants on your behalf and monitors growth.

Responsible Travel

  • Dress respectfully in villages and ask before photographing people.
  • Follow your guide around the elephants and keep a relaxed pace.
  • Please do not bring outside food for wildlife.
  • Drones require prior approval.
  • Pack out everything you bring in.
By choosing this tour, you support ethical elephant care and community-led conservation. Thank you for travelling responsibly with us.

Joined Trip Information

This program operates as a shared group trip with shared transportation. All guests travel together and return to Chiang Mai at the same time. If some guests finish earlier, there may be a short wait until the whole group is ready. Private trips are available on request if you prefer a flexible schedule. Your understanding helps us keep tours small, friendly, and eco-friendly. 🌿

Important Note – High Season (Oct–Jan)

During October–January, there are usually more guests and heavier traffic, so return times can occasionally be later than usual. If you plan another activity after ours, we recommend scheduling it from 8:00 PM onwards. Have a dinner reservation? Tell our driver—we can drop you at the restaurant on the way back when feasible.
