Bari City Center: Wine Tasting with Food Pairings

Description
Step off the cobbled streets of Bari’s old town and into a welcoming, historic wine shop—where glasses are full, stories flow, and the air smells like aged oak and fresh focaccia.
This wine tasting experience is designed for curious travelers, food lovers, and wine enthusiasts who want to slow down and truly taste Puglia. Located right in the heart of Bari’s city center, it’s easily reachable on foot—no car, no countryside detour, no rush. Just a warm seat, good company, and a lineup of expressive wines that tell the story of the land.
You’ll be welcomed into a charming, family-run wine shop, full of character and rich with local history. Your host—a passionate wine expert—will guide you through a tasting of four carefully selected wines: a sparkling, a white, a rosé, and a red. Each wine is chosen to showcase the diversity of Southern Italian grapes, from crisp coastal whites to bold sun-soaked reds.
As you sip, you’ll learn how wine is made—from vineyard to bottle—along with stories behind the grapes, the regions, and the winemakers who keep tradition alive while embracing innovation. You’ll also be introduced to basic tasting techniques so you can identify aromas, balance, and structure—even if you’re completely new to wine.
To complement the wines, you’ll enjoy a tasting platter of local food pairings: cured meats like capocollo or salami, aged and fresh cheeses, seasonal jams, artisan bread, and soft, golden focaccia straight from the oven. Everything is thoughtfully selected to bring out the best in each glass—and give you a taste of Puglia’s rich culinary tradition.
The atmosphere is informal, personal, and deeply rooted in local pride. There are no long lectures or rigid rules—just friendly conversation, delicious wine, and space to ask questions, share impressions, and enjoy the moment.
Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or in a small group, this experience offers the perfect break from sightseeing. It’s a chance to rest your feet, fill your glass, and feel like a guest rather than a tourist.
So come in, raise a glass, and get to know Bari one sip at a time.
