Day trip to Permet, a mix of nature, gastronomy and thermal pools

In Permet, in the local trattorias, the 'Tave Dheu' is where they serve, a casserole with onions, feta, ricotta, olives and minced meat. Typically the meat of the casserole is baked or roasted on the spit. In these parts you can also get very good Byrek and you can taste delicious cheeses. These include 'Kos', white cheese, 'Feta', salted sheep's butter, and kefir. Among the desserts there is 'Bakllava', 'Kadaif', 'Ballokume' and the very famous 'Gliko', a true Permet tradition.

You will leave at 7:30 from Saranda, and you will reach Permet in about 2 hours. As you approach the Vjosa valley, you can start enjoying the wonders of the surrounding natural environment. The hot Permet thermal pools are free access, to take a relaxing bath to free your head and gather energy. After the spa, you will dive into the woods and paths of the Redhi i Hotovës National Park, full of canyons and greenery.
