Cinque Terre Day Trip

This 13.5-hour day trip from Milan will take you to one of Italy’s most scenic coastal areas, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Cinque Terre. Known for its five colorful villages perched on cliffs facing the Ligurian Sea, Cinque Terre offers breathtaking views and charming streets.

You’ll start the journey by traveling to the village of Manarola, where you’ll have free time to stroll through vineyards, relax at the harbour, and take in the stunning seaside views. Then, hop on a train to Monterosso al Mare, the largest of the five villages, where you can explore its charming alleys and visit the beautiful beaches.

The highlight of the tour is a 90-minute boat ride from Monterosso to La Spezia, giving you the chance to admire the picturesque villages from the water. You'll pass the stunning coastline, where steep cliffs meet the turquoise sea, and get a unique view of the colourful homes that cling to the cliffs.

The tour concludes with a coach ride back to Milan. Despite the influx of tourists, each village retains its authentic charm, with small shops, restaurants, and local cafés creating a welcoming atmosphere. The boat trip, however, depends on weather conditions, so in case of bad weather, the trip may be replaced with an alternative route.

Curiosity: The village of Monterosso, the largest of the five, was once a busy fishing town and still has a small, but lively fishing industry. It’s also home to a beautiful beach, which is a rare find in Cinque Terre!
