Organic Wine Tasting with Local Food & Stroll in Roccalbegna

Description
Begin your experience with a tasting of four organic wines, thoughtfully paired with a selection of local cured meats and cheeses. The tasting takes place within the winery’s cellar, where you can learn about the sustainable and natural approach to winemaking—using native yeasts, spontaneous fermentations, and zero added sulfites—reflecting a deep respect for the land and tradition.
The wines served include selections like Armancione and Ughetto, crafted from indigenous Tuscan grapes such as Trebbiano Toscano, Procanico, Ansonica, Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, and Colorino—all cultivated with a philosophy rooted in minimal intervention and respect for nature. Bottled in lightweight containers with screw caps, these wines exemplify sustainable practices and purity of expression.
Accompanying the tasting are pecorino cheeses of varying aging, and a curated selection of cured meats sourced from local producers, including aged sausage, prosciutto, guanciale, and a special aromatic lardo called "ramerina." Complementary delights like fruit preserves, traditional sauces, fresh bread, and the renowned "Biscotto Salato di Roccalbegna" (a slow-food presidium) complete this authentic culinary experience, offering a true taste of the land’s rich heritage.
Following the tasting, take an optional walk through the vineyard (it is located 15 minutes away, so it's not always granted and it's optional) to appreciate the historic terraced vineyards of the estate, planted in areas renowned for their suitability to native grape varieties.
Continue with a gentle stroll through the picturesque medieval village of Roccalbegna, perched at 522 meters altitude in the heart of Maremma Grossetana. This charming town, with its fortress ruins overlooking rugged cliffs and the source of the Albegna River, embodies centuries of history and authentic local character.
Underage people will be given a local fruit juice instead of the wine tasting.
