Florence: Discover the Sant'Ambrogio district and the iconic Cibreino

Description

The city's most authentic neighbourhood opens its doors to an in-depth experience of its streets and artisan shops and one of its most iconic trattorias.

During a visit to the charming Sant'Ambrogio market, a place with a genuine flavour, much loved in the city, you can breathe in the air of a real fruit and vegetable market with its colours and atmosphere of great spontaneity. Inside the market, in the covered area, you can meet butchers, cheesemongers and shopkeepers in a cheerful atmosphere full of humanity.

After touring the streets and artisan shops that abound in the neighbourhood, the experience moves to one of the city's most iconic places, a trattoria that since 1979 has made raw ingredients a true cult, choosing only products of exceptional quality, organic and locally sourced: the “Cibreino”, the Trattoria Cibrèo, as it has been renamed by locals to distinguish it from its sister restaurant next door.

Among the typical dishes, you cannot miss the renowned soups, but also a dish that has become famous for its deliciousness and ability to trigger exciting childhood memories, such as Chicken and Ricotta Meatballs with Pomarola Sauce.

Cibreino, opened by renowned chef Fabio Picchi on the same day as the adjacent restaurant, is one of the most beloved and appreciated trattorias in the city, with iconic dishes ranging from traditional Florentine fare to Italian classics revisited by the chef with his flair and extraordinary depth. It is a celebration of good food that has become famous throughout the world.
