Pigeon Island National Park, situated approximately 1 km off the coast of Nilaveli near Trincomalee, is one of Sri Lanka's premier marine sanctuaries. Named after the rock pigeons that inhabit the island, it boasts some of the country's most pristine coral reefs and a rich diversity of marine life.
