Vuokatti: Snowshoeing and wildlife watching

Description

Join us on a snowshoeing trek through the enchanting winter forests. As we hike across the snowy landscape, we take time to observe nature and discuss the cycle of life in Finland’s unique environment.

Along the way, we explore the lives of Nordic wildlife, talking about how they survive and thrive in these northern landscapes. We’ll search for tracks in the snow, and if we’re lucky, we might even follow them, gaining insight into the daily life of the animals that roam these forests.

This experience is a perfect blend of adventure, discovery, and a deeper connection with nature.

The terrain of the trek is not demanding, making it suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. The tour starts from the Vuokatinmaa cabin area and winds through the nearby forest and along the lake shore.

If we’re lucky, we might spot tracks of a lynx, wolverine, fox, wolf, or hare. Even bears have wandered through this area, though in winter, they are fast asleep in their dens.

The tour is a great way to explore Finnish nature and especially its wildlife with the guidance of an experienced guide. After returning from the trek, we will enjoy a snack by an open fire along with hot drinks!
