Plaza de Mayo + Afroargentine History Tour | March 29th 15:30-19:30 | March 30th 14:00-18:00 

Explore the contrasting hues of the city of Buenos Aires in this half day outing. First, we’re off to the Plaza de Mayo area, the foundational blocks of the city. Here, we’ll explore the presidential palace Casa Rosada, the Cathedral and the fascinating political history that is central to this park and stretches from colonial times into contemporary affairs.

We will the walk into San Telmo Neighboorhood and start the Afroargentine History Tour. A unique walking tour led by local community members that uncovers the often-overlooked Afro-Argentine history and culture. We trace African roots in Buenos Aires’ streets, buildings, and tango.

As we walk through San Telmo, we’ll visit former slave quarters, the church, tenements, and a Capeverdean-owned restaurant, ending at El Tambo Afro—the first Black artists and entrepreneurs’ store. Along the way, we’ll explore the legacy of Afro-Argentines, the history of erasure, and the ongoing
