From Tromsø: Epic Arctic Whale Watching Day Trip 12h

Description

Set off from Tromsø and head north toward the world-class whale watching destination of Skjervøy. Pass snow-capped mountains, frozen fjords, and tranquil North Norwegian villages. Though the skies are dark, the unique light of the polar winter will unveil magnificent landscapes.  Arrive at Skjervøy harbor and put on the professional polar thermal flotation suits and goggles provided by the whale activity organizer. Board a specialized whale watching vessel (typically a RIB boat or a smaller tour boat) and set off into the fjord.  For the next 2.5 to 3 hours, your experienced captain will guide you deep into the fjord. This area is the winter "buffet" for Orcas and Humpback Whales, which gather here annually to feed on herring. Witness the thrilling sight of them hunting, breaching, and spouting up close.  After your whale watching journey, return to the pier and remove your gear. Take a short break before boarding the vehicle for the return trip to Tromsø. Relax in the comfortable car or once again enjoy the unique scenery of the Arctic twilight.
