Wine Tour of Southern Galicia, A Gastronomic Paradise!

Description
This 7 Days/ 6 Nights journey starts in Vigo, the largest fishing port in Europe, where you will be savouring the seafood, wines and more of Galicia`s Southern coast and wine country with our co-funder who will accompany you during all your trip...
The first few days you will explore the Rias Baixas region, where you will take a ferry to the next peninsula to enjoy a hands-on Galician Coastal Cooking class with a local chef based on traditional seafood dishes of the area.
On one of the days in Vigo, you will choose what to do. You can have a day at leisure, take a sailing trip over to the breath-taking beaches of the Cies Islands or walk part of the Portuguese Camino along the coast and visit a winery in O Rosal. Or you could also travel to Santiago de Compostela and explore the old town and visit the Cathedral with an expert guide.
We`ll follow the course of the Miño river, right to the natural border that divides Galicia from Portugal, where we will learn about the pesqueiras, centuries-old stone structures used to fish for lamprey and other fish in the Minho River. On both sides of the miño, they prepare the lamprey eel and they both make wine from the same grape Albariño/Alvarinho. We will taste wines made on both sides of the river border, at DO. Rias Baixas Wine Region and Portugal´s D.O.C. Vinho Verde wine country!
Our next stop will be wine regions like D.O. Ribeiro, where we will visit a wine museum to learn about the history of the oldest Appellation of Origin of Galicia, and D.O. Ribeira Sacra. Here the vineyards are cultivated alongside the banks of the rivers Sil and Miño since Roman times, with a steep slope incline of up to 86 degrees! No wonder why it is called heroic viticulture.
Our trip will come to an end with a special show cooking farewell dinner of creative Galician cuisine.
For those who will like to extend their trip, we have add-ons down to Porto, Lisbon over to Seville and could even end up in Madrid the capital city of Spain. Let us know and we can suggest the best way to combine the add-on either pre-tour of post-tour just ask one of our tour specialists.
