Private Kowloon Street Food & Culture Tour

Description

When the sun sets and the humidity starts to ebb, Hong Kong really comes alive! Join us on a night tour of Kowloon, affectionately known as the ‘Dark Side’ of Hong Kong, and see the city at its grittiest and most captivating. Over the course of the night tour, we will undertake an in-depth exploration of Kowloon, learning about its history, including just how it became a part of the British empire and its transformation through to the modern day.

Private night tours can be booked for any day of the week and can start at any time between 3 pm and 5 pm. Your night tour lasts 4 hours, 5 hours if you book the tour and also require a hotel pick-up.

Start your journey in Sham Shui Po, a treasure trove of authentic street food where Michelin-recommended bites meet wallet-friendly prices. Savor unforgettable flavors like cheung fun, beef and egg sandwich, wife cake, and tong shui while gaining insight into Hong Kong’s urban resilience and local life.

Next, head to Mong Kok, famous for its vibrant markets and neon lights. Explore Fa Yuen Street Market and the Goldfish Market while enjoying wonton noodles and egg tarts.

End the evening in historic Yau Ma Tei, home to the Wholesale Fruit Market and Taoist Tin Hau Temple, with a chance to try exotic fruits, ser geng (snake meat soup), and snake wine. This tour blends Kowloon’s rich history, culture, and cuisine into an unforgettable evening adventure.

Know before you go

Please drink plenty of water before your tour. It is very easy to become dehydrated in Hong Kong and we need you with good energy levels as there is a lot of walking. Please bring a bottle of water with you and an umbrella which is good for keeping both the sun and rain off. Don’t forget your camera, there will be lots to take pictures of. Please have a late lunch as you will not have the opportunity to have a full dinner until after the tour.
