Light Trekking in Kandy Countryside

Are you ready for a day full of nature, culture, and local life? This is the perfect tour for you!

On this tour we will visit ancient temples together, you will taste traditional Sri Lankan snacks, and get a view on local life in the countryside in Sri Lanka. Keep your legs moving on the light treks, but also try the local transportation by bus and tuk-tuk! 

On the way, we will visit three famous temples. Lankathilaka Temple, a 14th-century temple was built on a huge rock. Gadaladeniya temple was built in South Indian style and you have a great panoramic view from the hilltop.

The third temple is called Embekke Devala and has impressive carvings and woodwork.

On the way, you will see Home gardens, Small countryside paths, Paddy fields, People, Wildlife, Small Industries, Tea plantations, Water canals: the local life. Taste Sri Lankan traditional snacks and fresh fruits from the countryside and a visit to the Herbal and spices garden.

07:30 am - Pick up from any place in Kandy

08:00 am - Gadaladeniya ancient temple

09:00 am - Light trekking to Lankathilaka temple through the home gardens, paddy fields, small paths, etc. (4.5Km) Some fresh fruits while on the trip

11:30 am - Lankathilaka ancient temple

12:30 pm - Sri Lankan traditional snacks

01:00 pm - Light trekking to Embekke Devala through countryside streets, Tea plantations, Small industries, etc.

02:00 pm - Embekke Devala

03:00 pm - Public bus journey to Daulagala

03:30 pm - Tuk Tuk ride to Pilimatalawa

04:30 pm - Herbal & Spices Garden

05:00 pm - Drive back to Kandy
