Sleigh Ride to Linnansaari National Park – A Family-Friendly Winter Adventure

Step into a sleigh pulled by a snowmobile and glide across the frozen Lake Saimaa to the main island of Linnansaari National Park. Wrapped in blankets, you can simply relax and admire the snowy scenery while your guide takes you deep into the Lakeland.

On Linnansaari island, a variety of activities await: hike along marked snowshoe trails, visit the historic museum croft, enjoy a picnic by an open fire,or try your luck at ice fishing. Activity equipment can be rented from Oravi reception before your ride. We especially recommend snowshoeing on the marked routes!

There’s also a café on the island where you can enjoy coffee and pancakes (mainly open on Saturdays—check opening hours on our website). You’re welcome to bring your own picnic or pre-book a picnic basket as an extra service. Firewood and fireplaces are available on the island.

You can book either a one-way ticket (if you’d like to hike back) or a return ticket. Return times are arranged at Oravi reception upon arrival and depend on weather and activities. A typical visit on the island lasts 2–4 hours.

This tour is suitable for all ages and is especially recommended for families.
