The trails at Finca Lantana are a special place to see different species of frogs, snakes and insects, and other animals such as the sloth, ocelot, tarantula and armadillo, as well as a wide variety of plants, the majestic strangler fig, and many more. La Leona Waterfall is located in the small town of Curubande, 20 minutes from Liberia. La Leona is a unique deep blue waterfall rooted between two canyons. It’s one of the few, if not the only, one in Costa Rica with this characteristic.

Its water comes from the “white river” or “Rio Blanco” that finds its source in the foothills of the Volcano Rincon de la Vieja. The color of the water is just amazing, between blue and turquoise, which is explained by the presence of sulfur in the water.  It’s definitely a must in this area!

We’ll start our hike through a canyon and inside the tropical forest. Most of the trail is next to the Blanco River, walking through caves and sometimes even swimming to go around big rocks that surround this place. (Not suitable for mobility impaired or children under 6 yrs)

On this tour we will visit the beautiful canton of Quepos Puntarenas. We will start our tour hiking along the mountains that border the Pacific coast. From the mountains we will see the different turquoise and blue tones of the great Costa Rican Pacific coast. We will visit a variety of hidden beaches where we can relax and enjoy the natural beauty. You can expect to encounter some native species of the area such as limpets, white-faced monkeys, among others in their natural habitat.
