We cross the village of Porto da Cruz, an area known for producing part of the wine in the region, heading towards the city of Santana, where there are the famous thatched roof houses. After having lunch in Faial, we started the climb up the mountains towards Ribeiro Frio where we visited the trout pond and took a short walk along the Levada dos Balcões.
