Auttiköngäs is one of the best natural sites to visit when in Lapland. It is a dream-come-true destination for a day trip! From deep forests to magic waterfalls this is a breath-taking beauty. We will depart early morning to Autti area, 80 kilometers from Rovaniemi city center. The tour consists in three hours hiking through the virgin forest. The area´s main sight and attraction is the 16-meter-high Auttiköngäs Falls, short stops will be made for photos during the hike, also snacks and refreshments will be provided. Along the way you can enjoy the magnificent view of the river and the rapids. Berries and mushrooms are available for pickup during the hike in the summer time.

Your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel. Drive to Wat Rong Khun, the "White Temple". This is the creation of Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, who designed, constructed, and opened it to visitors in 1997. Continue to Mae Fah Luang Art and Culture Park which is a park featuring stunning landscaped gardens, museums & a traditional Lanna pavilion. Continue to Wat Huay Pla Kang, a temple complex that was constructed recently. A giant statue of Kuan Im, the goddess of Mercy, can be seen from afar. We will spend some time at this fantastic complex and will take the elevator to the top floor of the statue. From here you will have a great view of the surroundings. 

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch we will drive to Ban Apha, an Akha village not far from Chiang Rai. The Akha are the most numerous tribal group in Chiang Rai province. Their traditional dress is absolutely stunning. Especially the headdress of the women is exquisite and very recognizable. Their embroidery though is also of great beauty. If you want to dress up as an Akha.

You will help the Akha people prepare a typical Akha delicacy. It is a fun activity. You will also hear the story of the recent history of the village. After we have consumed our Akha delicacy we drive to a pretty, nearby waterfall. Then it is time to return to Chiang Rai. Before we drop you off at the hotel we will stop at Wat Rong Suea Ten (Temple of the dancing tiger, literally), also known as the Blue Temple. It is of stunning beauty. 

The tour departs at 10:00am and travels north east, following the Hutt River into the Hutt Valley and a visit to the Kaitoke Regional Park including a crossing of the swing bridge and a loop walk through the original native rainforest. This is followed by a scenic drive over the Remutaka Ranges, including a stop at the Summit for spectacular views. It then descends into the Wairarapa region, passing through Featherston for a cheese tasting at C’est Cheese and into Greytown for a chocolate tasting at Schoco Chocs before arriving in the quaint winery town of Martinborough. Here you will visit award winning wineries and enjoy their cellar door experiences and sample their world renowned wines before a sumptuous lunch at a vineyard restaurant.  

The tour then heads to the rugged south Wairarapa coast and Cape Palliser. The tour follows the edge of the coast, providing unstoppable views of the Bay before exploring the rural fishing village of Ngawi with it's iconic tractors hauling fishing boats up the beach. Marvel at the North Island's largest permanent fur seal colony and test your fitness on a climb to the Cape Palliser Lighthouse that provides epic sweeping sea views. After working up an appetite take a short walk along the edge of Lake Onoke (Lake Ferry) and hear about its history whilst local fisherman haul in their catches fresh from the ocean and sit down at the historic Lake Ferry Hotel for dinner. The tour then returns to Wellington via the Remutakas and State Highway 2 for an 8:00pm drop off.

See Gannets nesting and flying over rock outcrops and black sand beaches. The gannet colony is in residence from August to March. Travel to the Arataki visitor centre, an information centre built high on the ridge of the Waitakere Ranges. From here you get breath-taking panoramic views across the rain forest to Auckland’s two harbours. This visitor’s centre is also home to some traditional Māori carvings and your guide will talk about them and explain their significance for the area.

There are excellent pathways for you to walk around the Arataki centre which gets you close to plants. The Waitakere Ranges is also where one of Auckland’s major water supplies is located and is a perfect start to exploring the west coast. Continue on to the lush rain forest where you walk the easy tracks among giant tree ferns and view New Zealand’s famous kauri trees and silver ferns.

We stop at a stunning viewpoint overlooking Piha beach and the Tasman Sea before going down to the black sand beach. Marvel at the Lion Rock, Piha’s most iconic landmark, and see the Māori carving. Lion Rock stands watching over the waves, sitting majestically between Piha and Little Piha Beaches. Tucked away on the wild and rugged west coast, you’ll find the Kitekite Falls Track.  Beautiful patch of Stunning native bush, cascading waterfalls, crystal-clear streams, pools to swim in and eels to feed; the Kitekite Falls Track has it all. This spectacular 40-meters multi-steps waterfall is reached after a easy 30 minutes’ walk from the main beach - a great spot for photos! 

Feel the black sand beneath your feet as you stroll along Piha beach - one of the most awe-inspiring beaches the world has to offer and watch the surf waves rolling in. Piha is popular with experienced surfers, but it’s also a wonderful spot for picnics, relaxing walks, and swims – under the watchful eye of the famous Piha Surf Club.  There’s a sense of muscularity about the Tasman Sea’s attention to the rocky coastline, and an intimacy created by the dense rainforest that crowds the dunes. The west is wild and have a remote, untamed beauty that's good for the soul. We meet at Omonoia square, one of the most central and old squares in Athens, and we start our walk by heading to Exarcheia, the most alternative and controversial neighborhood of Athens, rich in history and culture and full of professional and student life.  

Our first stop we’ll be at the historic building of Polytechnio (National Technical University of Athens) which defined the modern history of Greece and has some great as well as dramatic stories to tell.

As we continue our walk deep in Exarcheia streets, we are going to witness the neighborhoods’ culture and spirit,  talk about the changes Exarcheia faced from early 19th century, its role into the 2nd World War, today’s history and culture, admire numerous of its street art and visit an amazing hill that offers panoramic views to the city! After we are going to take a small break and relax by drinking coffee or tea in a local favorite place!

Then through the famous Panepistimiou and Stadiou streets we will have a stop at outside each one of the three gems of Athens namely Academy of Athens – University of Athens- National Library of Greece, which are also known as the Trilogy of Athens buildings.
