Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to learn more about the tradition of reindeer herding in Lapland and also learn how to Ice-fishing like a Finn in a frozen Lake! A short Reindeer sleigh ride will be also experienced at the Reindeer Farm. 

Spend 1-hour with the animals that are truly the symbol of Lapland: the reindeer.You’ll also have the chance to experience a short reindeer ride in a sledge before enjoying biscuits and warm tea. After meeting the adorable reindeer the ice fishing trip will take you to the best fishing spots in the region!
At the frozen lake the guide will share the secrets of ice fishing and will help you to get started. You can find many species in the lakes around Rovaniemi: trout, rainbow trout, perch and whitefish. This is a traditional way of spending a day with family or friends like a true Lappish local! 

Throughout centuries fishing has been highly valued in Lapland as a source of food and income. Nowadays, still, the tradition of fishing lives on. Taste a piece of local life by going on a full day fishing adventure! The activity suits everyone as your guide will instruct and help you throughout the trip. The fishing will be done at a private, riverside location far out of Rovaniemi city area.

We will start from Rovaniemi and drive around 20-40 km away to reach the best spots.
During the trip we will build up a campfire and fry some sausages while fishing. If we get big enough catch, we can fry that too and have a nice meal!
Photographic opportunities are around us all the time and the river areas offers an ideal setting for landscape photography. 

Rovaniemi is ideal for fishing buffs: we have a great selection of frozen rivers, rapids, lakes and ponds in the area. We will approach one of these areas by car and set up our fishing spot in the lovely Finnish wilderness. First, you will drill your own hole into the ice and then place the hook into the water. Fish don’t expend much energy during the winter months, therefore if you move your bait or jig too fast a fish might let it go in order to save energy.

While you are fishing we will prepare a campfire and cook traditional Finnish sausages for you

Enter the polar arctic and enjoy winter in Lapland like a local with an exciting snowmobile tour beyond the arctic circle. Afterwards you'll have a trek into the forest ending the day with a peaceful session of ice fishing.

After demonstrating the safety measure, our guide will lead you towards the beautiful Arctic nature where you'll experience the silence and a snow-covered scenery. Subsequently, based on snow conditions, our guide will drive you to the place where you'll be using snowshoes to stretch your legs and wake your body while traversing the Lappish forest. During the break a guide will start a fire and prepare a barbecue to grill sausages and light snack. 

After lunch you can relax with some fishing on a frozen lake. Don’t know how to ice fish? Don't you worry, our guide will give you step-by-step instructions, from drilling your own ice-hole to using the special tools for thick ice, and of course some techniques for fishing. 

Note: during the snowmobile safari, children will travel on a sleigh pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. Children over 140cm could seat in the back of the snowmobile as a passenger with an adult paying a full price. Specific driving situation is always arranged by the guide.

For children too young to wear snowshoes, sleds (toboggans) will be provided.
