Isolated Koh Lao Liang a little-known remedy for travellers seeking breathtaking Andaman Sea scenery without the crowds, the isolated pair of islands don’t even register among many of Trang province’s more popular destinations. And we hope it stays that way. Part of Mu Ko Phetra National Park, There are two islands standing side by side; namely, Koh Lao Liang Nong, or “Little Brother Island”. North of a channel that takes around 20 minutes to cross by kayay. Lao Liang Nong’s beach is relatively small, the marvellous aesthetics rank it up there with the best in Thailandand. And Koh Lao Liang Phi (“Big Brother Island”) has an even taller cliff rising dramatically over its own dazzling beach. Lao Liang Phi’s beach is around twice the length of its southern counterpart, with similarly fine sand stretching up to a cave in one corner. Venture time for a squid fishing adventure from the boat to learn how to catch squid using special techniques developed by local fishermen. If you hook one, throw it on the barbecue and eat your catch!

Settle onto a longtail boat, and absorb the scenery as you zoom toward Koh Mook, a trip to Unseen, the Andaman Sea. Stop here for a guided swim through the Emerald Cave, and then continue to three other islands for beach time and snorkel sessions in the coral-filled, aquamarine waters. Escape the crowds on land to Koh Libong, where is the largest island in Trang province, southwest Thailand, Ko Libong lulls travellers into a simpler state of mind with its unusual landscapes, deep starry nights and Muslim fishing villages uninfluenced by mass tourism.
