Things to in Greece

A rounde hike trip to meet cretan nature. Springs, old path, herbs, endimic plants mixed with wild flowers. A trip also at the history...ruins of stone build houses and bridges, small churches on the way reminds the religion is so important for Cretans. Wild goats, sheep, and various birds. And a challenging hike having view the woulf of Souda and the White Mountains.

This is a private activity for maximum 4 persons. Unless you are a family or friends of more people that we can arange it. Is the best way to see the gorge, learn about its history, plants and animals, habitation, tradition, local cusina, as you will be all the time guided during the hike. I am an expert, certified, local hike leader that l am from Samaria (My father was born at Samaria in 1926 and our family house still exist there) and l grow up at the exit of the gorge at Agia Roumeli. In fact l am the only local hikimg guide and l am beeing in the gorge since l was 5 years old. l know everything about the perfecture, local history, tradition, local food, herbs and land scape of course.

Aradena the abandoned village on the ruins of the stone houses build at the same place of ancient Aradin.

A trip thtrough history, this is a great hike crossing the gorge, ending at the Lybian sea at Marmara and returning back on a different path through Livaniana.

Starting this great hike we are going to visit Aradena abandoned village.
We will hike around the ruins of the stone houses there and the church of Ai Stratigos.
Then we are going to follow down side the stone path that leads to the gorge continuing south.
The scenery changes all the time, the climate changes also formations making the whole hike challenging...

A lot of herbs and plants such margoran, fliskouni, sage, tyme. Also a lot of wild goats find refuge in the place.

Ending at be the Lybian sea we will be at Marmara beach and after a break for a snack or swim we will follow a path to Livaniana village.

We will pass between the old houses and we will continue up again on a path back to Aradena with view to the gorge from hight up this time.
