Guests often ask hotel teams what to do nearby, how to reach an attraction or where to eat. A structured experience programme can turn those conversations into a useful service and an additional revenue source. Start with your guests’ needs and your team’s capacity, not the size of a catalogue.

Choose a manageable local selection

Ask reception and concierge teams which requests occur most often. Group them into practical needs: arrival transport, a short activity near the hotel, a family outing or a dining experience. Check travel time from the property, accessibility, operating days and language options.

Review the experience as a guest would. Can someone understand the meeting point, what is included and what happens if plans change? A product that is difficult to explain may create more work than it earns.

Make booking easy to find

A branded booking link can appear in a pre-arrival message, guest information page or QR code at reception. Use a clear label such as “Explore local experiences” rather than an unexplained external URL. Test the entire journey on a phone, including availability selection and confirmation.

Keep promotional recommendations separate from essential stay information. A guest should not need to navigate a sales page to find check-in instructions or contact the hotel.

Agree who does what

Document who confirms the activity, delivers the service, handles changes and answers urgent questions. Give staff a short escalation guide. Avoid making promises about pickup, refunds or availability that are not supported by the product conditions.

Understand the commercial model

Toristy works with Commission and Net Rate models. Distribution partners typically earn 10–15% with the Commission model. With Net Rates, partners control their markup and margin. Evaluate revenue after payment costs, refunds and staff time, and make sure the quoted guest price is clear.

Measure guest value as well as sales

Track completed experience bookings per stay, average booking value, gross earnings, cancellations and support requests. Ask whether guests found the recommendation relevant and whether the activity met expectations. Remove weak products rather than adding more choices to compensate.

Toristy offers 130,000+ experiences and InTrip AI for branded recommendations. Hotels can discuss booking links, widgets or a wider partnership. Begin with a small programme your team can confidently support, then expand based on guest feedback and measurable contribution.
