5 Days Sumba Tour Itinerary

Day 1 : TAMBOLAKA AIRPORT – WATU MALADONG – BWANNA BEACH (L, D)

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be picked up and welcomed by us. The first activity on the Island will be to Watu Maladong, the beach where you can have a look at the enormous big rocks in the middle of the sea. It gives you slightly the feeling that you are in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. Because of the big rocks magically coming out of the water. After this, we will continue our journey and we will explore Bwanna beach. Before you arrive there, you have to drive on a sandy road that guides you through a massive field of high grass, which gives a very adventurous feeling. First, we will stop at the viewing point where you can view Watu Maladong and Bwanna Beach. The beach of Bwanna is a long clear colorful sand beach under the majestic cliff heading to the Indian Ocean makes this place extraordinary. Whilst its beauty is unquestionable, the beach is still unknown by most tourists, which makes it almost private and very clean. Later on, we climb down to the beach where the big arc is located. The climb is very steep, so you have to be careful! But once you are there, you will be standing on one of the most beautiful beaches in Indonesia.

Day 2 : RATENGGARO-WEEKURI LAKE – MANDORAK (B, L, D)

After waking up and getting ready for a new day of exploring, you will be picked up at your hotel and we will be heading to Ratenggaro village where you can meet the locals, their native culture, and see the traditional Sumbanese houses. The village is built near a beach which you can visit when you are there. You will have a nice view of the village while standing on the beach. You can see the tops of the houses on the higher ground. After the village, we will bring you to Weekuri Lake. This lake is a saltwater lake in the southwest of Sumba. You can take a dive to experience the blue and clear water of Weekuri and also for a possible cooling down. After that you are all dried up, we will continue our journey to Mandorak Beach which is very close to Weekuri Lake. The beach provides a great and peaceful stay with nice spots. The big opening between two rock ridges will let the clear blue water pass through the beach and also let you look far into the ocean. When you are there, you can also take the higher ground which will give a view of the coastline and the rocky cliffs where you can watch the sunset.

Day 3: TARUNG/WAITABAR VILLAGE – PRAIJING – LAPOPU WATERFALL (B, L, D)

A new day, a new adventure. Today the journey will begin at the village of Tarung/ Waitabar which is located just a few minutes west from Waikabubak. There are two villages at this place but they are built so close to each other that it will look like one big village. The village will give you a welcoming feeling while you look around. Next on our adventure will be the La Popu Waterfall. After a drive through the endless hilly and green landscape of Sumba, you will arrive nearby the waterfall. To visit the waterfall, you will need to do a small hike of approximately 15 minutes and cross a bamboo bridge to get there. There is a nice spot to sit down where you can watch the water find its way down the hill. You can also bring your swimwear to take a dive in the water just in front of the big waterfall and cool down after a long day of adventure.

Day 4 : WAIRINDING HILL – WALAKIRI BEACH SUNSET – WAINGAPU TOWN (B, L, D)

On this day, we will be traveling from West- to East-Sumba. From Waikabubak to Waingapu. Gladly there are a lot of things to see on the way to there. Your first destination will be the “Bukit Wairinding”, which means; the Hills of Wairinding. There is a spot where the view into these hills is amazing. You will be looking at green and endless hills. Sit down for a while on the grass and enjoy the moment. The next stop is at Walakiri beach. We will be watching the sunset while exploring the beach. Don’t hesitate and walk towards the small and magical mangrove trees which are growing inside the water. When the sun has disappeared, we will go back to the hotel where you can take a rest. The final destination of today will be Waingapu the capital city of East-Sumba

Day 5 : BUKIT PERSAUDARAAN – WAINGAPU AIRPORT (B)

The last day of this trip is here. So before you go to the airport, we want to show you one more spot which you will be visiting before you leave the Island. The “Bukit Persaudaraan”, the hills where you can stand on one of the highest points and have a look at the landscape which Sumba has to offer. You can see the lands with agriculture from above here and is very close to the airport. Unfortunately, this trip also has an end. Tour Itinerary

Our guide and driver will pick you up outside the wall with a paging board where your name wrote on it then directly drive you to Banyumulek Pottery Village where you may see people making pottery from mountain clay with traditional stuff and technique. Most of the villagers in this village make pottery for their living and you may try hand to make pottery directly from the villager. From here then continue to Sukerare The Hand Weaving Village, you can try your hand to make a Sasak traditional attire, they will gladly teach you. From Sukarara, you will continue your tour to visit Narmada Park the old Royal complex. The old king from Bali who once ruled Lombok spent his free time in this park, you will also find the giant garden which is usually called the replica of Mt. Rinjani (miniature of great Rinjani Mountain), holy water spring, and beautiful fresh pool. In this park, the king used to meditate in his old age. Your local guide will escort you to explore the park. Done with Narmada Park, then continue to your next destination, Lingsar Temple. Lingsar Temple is the symbol of harmony between the Sasak tribe (Moslem) and the Balinese tribe (Hindu). This Temple was built by the Balinese king named Anak Agung who once ruled Lombok Island, once a year after the second harvest, local people here will celebrate Perang Topat, Perang means war and topat means Rice cake, so they will throw each other by using Rice cake as a symbol of peace. After exploring this temple, you will continue to your next destination, Senggigi Beach The Tourism Center in Lombok. Senggigi is the most famous tourism object and becomes the icon of tourism for Lombok, you may enjoy the circumstances of the beach and Art Market, also you may take your lunch at a restaurant in the beach area while enjoying the beautiful landscape. After lunch, we will drive you to the North of Senggigi to see the better landscape in Nipah Hill where the view is beyond expectation, you can see the three Gilis (Trawangan, Meno, Air) and mount Agung Bali from this hill, you will be enchanted by the beautiful blue coastal view at the down of the hill. Day 2 - BATU BOLONG TEMPLE - NARMADA TEMPLE - MAYURA WATER PALACE - ISLAMIC CENTER  (B,L,D)

After breakfast at Hotel,  proceed to Batu Bolong Temple, the temple is located above the black rock Senggigi Beach which has a hole or holes in the middle. With its position that juts into the sea, of course, this temple has its own atmosphere of beauty. This Hindu sacred site at a glance will remind tourists of Pura Tanah Lot in Bali Island, the building of worship located on the shoreline with the position jutting into the sea. continue to Narmada,The name of Narmada is taken from Narmadanadi, the son of a very sacred Ganges River in India. For Hindus, the water is a sacred element that gives life to all beings in this world. Water emanating from the soil (spring) is associated with Tirta Amrita (immortality water) emanating from Kensi Sweta Kamandalu. Formerly the possibility of Narmada name used to name the name of springs that form several ponds and a river in that place. Eventually used to refer to the whole complex of temples and Narmada Park. next to Mayura Water Palace,  The word ‘mayura’ was taken from the Sanskrit language which means peacock bird. At that time, there were many snakes around the temple which disturbed people to do the praying. Some counselors advised to breed peacock bird around the park and the temple so they would make their prey. proceed to Islamic Center, this building stands on a land of waqf with an area of approximately 6.7 hectares. This magnificent building has a dome with beautiful calligraphy characteristic of sasambo batik, batik typical of NTB Province. In addition, there are five towering towers that surround the grandest and largest mosque in this province. The highest tower is named Tower of Asma'ul Husna because of its height reaching 99 meters. Day 3 - SASAKU - DEPART LOMBOK  ( B )

After breakfast at the hotel, free at own leisure until time to check out, stop by at Sasaku souvenirs shop and transfer to  Lombok International Airport for flight back home.

WELCOME TO JOGJA. You will meet and be greeted by our guide at YIA Kulonprogo and also to be transferred to and checked – into the hotel.

Day 2:    THE CAVE OF MARIA “SENDANGSONO” - BOROBUDUR   - SHOPPING MALIOBORO (B, L )
In the morning, we will drive to Cave of Maria “Sendangsono”. It is called the Lourdes of Indonesia because the Indonesian Catholic Youth in 1945 had the chance to make a pilgrimage to Lourdes and brought the rock where the apparition of Our Lady to be implanted under the feet of the Virgin Mary in Sendangsono as a relic. Sendangsono is being built since 1974 and only rely on the donation of the people. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Then, we will visit the largest Buddhist temple in the world – the iconic Borobudur Temple. Be ready to be amazed at the extraordinary details of the construction around the temple. On our way back to Jogja, we will shop at Beringharjo traditional market and along Malioboro street. These two connected shopping areas offer batik, traditional snacks, Javanese herbs, rattan ornaments and handicrafts, and so much more. Back to Hotel

Day 3:    CAVE OF MARIA “TRITIS”– THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS  (B, L )
After breakfast, we will drive directly to Wonosari regency to visit the Maria Tritis cave. The drive takes approximately 2.5 hours. Th Cave of Maria Tritis is adorned by beautiful stalactites and stalagmite, also with the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. We will then drive back to Jogja to visit the Ganjuran Church. Ganjuran Church is a Roman Catholic church decorated with a distinct Javanese cultures and also the 10-meters Hindu-styled temples like the Prambanan. In the said temples, there are statues of Mary and Jesus as Javanese royalties and teachers, adorned by exquisite batik motives. Back to Hotel

Day 3:    TIMANG BEACH – PENGGER PINE FOREST  (B, L)
After breakfast, we will drive to Wonosari Regency to visit the stunning and iconic Timang Beach. It will take around  3 hour drive from Jogjakarta. The main highlight of this beach is the Gondola. The Gondola was originally used by the lobster fishermen back in the days. Please keep in mind that the Gondola ride and suspension bridge pass is not included. We will then ride a jeep from Timang village to the beach and have a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Finally, we will make our way back to Jogja but we will stop at the unique Pengger Pine Forest. Back to hotel

Day 3 - SENDANG GILE - TIU KELEP  (B,L,D)

After breakfast at Hotel proceed to sendanggile waterfall. is located around to Rinjani mount. It was found intuitively when the inhabitants were hunting for a mad lion running into the forest that destroyed the inhabitants‘ village. It is 31 meters high above the earth surface falling down from a high crag. With a flat bottom on the ground of the waterfall, many visitors (most of them are domestic visitors) enjoy taking a bath under the waterfall. There is another waterfall surround Sendang Gila Waterfall named Tiu kelep. However, visitors tend to visit Sendang Gila because the access to Tiu It is 600 meters above the sea level, far from frenetic city, where you can find the tranquil holiday to escape from your saturation. Day 3 - PINK BEACH TOUR (B/L/D)

After breakfast at Hotel, pick up and direct Drive about 2,5 hours to south east of Lombok to reach Tanjung Luar Harbour east Lombok region, famous as the biggest fish market on Lombok island (in certain period also renown as Shark market ), from here we will continue our journey by outrigger Boat for ±45 minutes to Pink Beach, swimming on pristine clear water, Snorkeling and touching pink sands spreading  as long as bay, at  Gili Petelu  ±10 minutes from Pink Beach by boat, snorkeling will be our next activity, for 30 minutes, tropical multicolor fish and coral reefs will amaze you in a clear turquoise water will be an experience unforgettable, for ±30 minutes by boat to Pulau Pasir, this tiny isle can only be visit on low tight ( 50m2 ) & foto stop is highly recommended. stopby at Goat Island.  Return to Tanjung Luar harbor ±15 minutes by boat, back to hotel for free & leisure. Meeting point at Sanur Harbour and depart to Nusa Penida. prepare to visit Molenteng Tree House, This popular tree house is located near Atuh Beach. Try to climb the stairs and take a picture in the tree house’s door. Continue to Atuh beach, This beautiful beach has the white sand overlay with the clear blue sea water. In addition, it is not only the main attraction of this place because you will also so several small and high islands in the beach that makes this place it looked like the other popular tourist’s destination in Indonesia or especially in Papua, Raja Ampat. next to  Diamond Beach is in the same area as Atuh Beach. As it is named, the Diamond Beach offers the cliffs view with the sharp form like a diamond. proceed to Teletubbies Hill and it is remembered until now. Candi Bentar as the entrance gate of Puseh Temple looks dashing standing made of red bricks. Decorated by floral ornaments and curls of temple characteristics, making it more beautiful and unique. Candi Bentar as the gate is a barrier between Nista Mandala (Jaba sisi - the outer part of the temple) with Madya Mandala (Jaba Tengah - the central part of the temple).
Typically a temple building in general, there is also a statue of Dwarapala as a gate guard. But this Dwarapala statue in Paseh Temple is not like in general a giant statue of a temple gate guard. Usually Dwarapala is in a sitting position with one leg bent with a mace weapon, but here Dwarapala does not carry a weapon and is standing up.
