Things to do in Rovaniemi

Enter the polar arctic and enjoy winter in Lapland like a local with an exciting snowmobile tour beyond the arctic circle. Afterwards you'll have a trek into the forest ending the day with a peaceful session of ice fishing.

After demonstrating the safety measure, our guide will lead you towards the beautiful Arctic nature where you'll experience the silence and a snow-covered scenery. Subsequently, based on snow conditions, our guide will drive you to the place where you'll be using snowshoes to stretch your legs and wake your body while traversing the Lappish forest. During the break a guide will start a fire and prepare a barbecue to grill sausages and light snack. 

After lunch you can relax with some fishing on a frozen lake. Don’t know how to ice fish? Don't you worry, our guide will give you step-by-step instructions, from drilling your own ice-hole to using the special tools for thick ice, and of course some techniques for fishing. 

Note: during the snowmobile safari, children will travel on a sleigh pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. Children over 140cm could seat in the back of the snowmobile as a passenger with an adult paying a full price. Specific driving situation is always arranged by the guide.

For children too young to wear snowshoes, sleds (toboggans) will be provided.

Our guide will provide you with instructions for a successful fishing session and explain you how to use the necessary tools, such as the ice drill. After the instructions you may begin your fishing session and test your luck!

Visit Korouoma, a natural park known as the best ice-climbing destination in Finland. An outdoor enthusiast paradise, also known for its great hikes during warmer months. Thanks to this tour, you'll get a chance to appreciate the sightseeing locations of this park, such as canyons, rivers, cliffs and their small streams of water. 

This experience will take place about 120km away from Rovaniemi. During the lunch break you'll taste a traditional Lappish BBQ lunch in front of a campfire. 

Be aware that during  the winter season snowshoes will be provided. For children too young to wear snowshoes, sleds (toboggans) will be provided.

No one’s going to believe that you saw the elusive Ms. Aurora Borealis, so why not going on this trip with our paparazzi! Let our photographer capture special moments of you, and with luck, with Ms. Aurora! Our experienced guide will take you away from the light pollution of the city and find the best location for higher chances of seeing the northern lights based on current conditions. Expect to hear the stories and myths behind the Aurora Borealis phenomenon over a campfire with a light BBQ snack. Hot drinks will also be provided. A family favourite, this excursion to the Arctic Wildlife Ranua Zoo can be enjoyed by everybody.

At the zoo you’ll find over 50 species of Arctic animals in their habitat. Enjoy a Finnish lunch buffet at the Wild Arctic Restaurant. After this activity, make sure to visit the shop of the famous Finnish chocolate brand – Fazer – where you'll find all the chocolate you want at a cheaper price.

This journey begins with a visit to a local reindeer farm located into the Arctic Forest. There you'll meet the reindeers and the farmers who will tell you all about the lifestyle of these creatures and how their wellbeing is preserved. Afterwards, you'll experience Santa's favorite means of transport: a sleigh pulled by reindeers.

Worried about the temperature? You don't need to as you'll lay down on the sleigh you'll be covered by a warm blanket. Afterwards, you can warm up with some juice and typical snacks before you receive your reindeer driving license.
