In this trip our guide will take you to the spots in the Rovaniemi where is most likely to see the Auroras or the Northern Lights. Luck is an unfortunate factor with this unpredictable natural phenomenon, but with our professional experiences provide you with the highest possibility. A campfire will be started by our guide where sausages will be grilled and hot berry juices will be served to make the Lappish experience search for the Auroras as delightful as possible. This trip might be the closest distance between you and the Auroras in the Rovaniemi area!

After our guide will introduce you to all the safety measures, you'll start driving your own snowmobile into the Arctic wilderness while looking for the Northern Lights. Aurora Borealis is an natural and unpredictable phenomenon, our guides will use forecasting tools to increase your chances to see it but no one can guarantee it. 

Children under 140cm will sit on a sleigh pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. Children over 140cm can sit on the snowmobile behind the driver if the full price for adults is paid

Your excursion starts with pick-up from your hotel or apartments and transport to lovely Auttiköngäs waterfalls. The drive will take about an hour. Photo stops can be made along the way. Families with children or those looking for a mellow time in the Lappish forest will enjoy this tour.

Upon arrival Your guide will lead the way! This 3.5km hike is geared towards the active traveler and contains moderate elevation gain (240m). There are metal structures along the trail. The metal stairs have wooden duckboards suitable for dog paws as well and the other metal parts in the gorge can be gone around by using a signposted optional route without metal structures.

After 2 kilometers walk you can get your breath back while enjoying a snack and hot beverage by the open fire.

Auttiköngäs is a dream-come-true destination for day trip visitors. The area´s main sight and attraction is the 16-metre-high Auttiköngäs Falls. Auttiköngäs was established as a protected forest in 1995; later it was named a landscape forest. Today Auttiköngäs is part of the Northern Finland old-growth forest protection program. The forest in the Auttiköngäs area is so old that it can be called primary or virgin forest. There has never been any organised logging in the area.  The terrain is varying and jagged. The top of the large Könkäänvaara Hill reaches a height of 240 m, while Ispinävaara Hill at 190 m is definitely not as high but it is much steeper.

Rovaniemi is ideal for fishing buffs: we have a great selection of frozen rivers, rapids, lakes and ponds in the area. We will approach one of these areas by car and set up our fishing spot in the lovely Finnish wilderness. First, you will drill your own hole into the ice and then place the hook into the water. Fish don’t expend much energy during the winter months, therefore if you move your bait or jig too fast a fish might let it go in order to save energy.

A catch is not guaranteed but being patient greatly improves your luck!
While you are fishing we will prepare a campfire and cook traditional Finnish sausages for you

You don't need any experience or special equipment to come with us on this tour, just a sense of adventure. Just bring the recommended clothing, backpack, and camera and we’ll provide everything else. 

Our shuttle will transport us to the right place. Road takes approximately 1 hour 20 minutes one way. Photo stops can be made along the way to capture the stunning views of this scenic Lappish nature and its surrounding.

We start on a well-maintained national park trail and proceed 4.5 kilometres along the canyon. This portion of the trip takes about two - two and a half hours. During the hike, our knowledgeable guides identify many of the native plants and flowers. Quite frequently we see reindeer, moose, red fox along the way.  Upon arrival at the forest camp, snacks will be offered by the open fire. 

Korouoma is a 30-km-long fracture valley running from northwest to southeast on the border of the municipalities of Posio and Ranua. It is part of a fracture zone that is hundreds of millions of years old. In the centre of Korouoma the fracture valley forms a canyon that has worn its way into the surrounding terrain. At its deepest, the gorge is approximately 100-130 metres deep. Its cliff walls are tens of metres high and extremely steep and at points vertical. The bottom of this canyon is level and it is 200 to 500 metres wide. Parts of the canyon have become boggy and the narrow twisting River Korojoki meanders through it.

In Ranua Zoo you can see polar bears, brown bears, wolverines. reindeers, lynx, foxes and other animals!

The zoo is approximately 1 hour south of Rovaniemi by car. Upon arrival, you will take a stroll through the zoo, where you can see the interesting animals and birds that live at the "top of the world!". You will be able to dine in the cozy restaurant, visit all kinds of souvenir shops including the Fazer candy/chocolate shop and the wine shop, where they sell unique wines made from wild berries found locally, such as cloudberries, lingonberries and bilberries.

Every day a huge number of letters arrive at Santa’s Main Post Office. In 1994 Santa received 200,000 letters and just four years later, 800,000 letters! Santa’s elves sort all the letters and help Santa to read every single one of them. Then at Christmas or on New Year’s Day, under their Christmas tree, excited children all over the world delight in finding the exact toy or game they have for from asked Santa Claus!!!

Santa Claus Village is the most magical place all year round, for both children and adults alike!! There is something for everyone here. After posting letters at Santa's Post Office, you can buy gifts and souvenirs. In winter you can visit husky and reindeers.

Of course, you will meet Santa Claus and share with him your dreams and wishes. There are so many things to do! Don't forget to cross the Arctic Circle! Take a photograph of this important event and remember to get your certificate to prove it!!

Wild berries and mushrooms can be freely picked in Finland's forests under everyman's right, but be careful which varieties you pick, as some berries and fungi are poisonous. But no worries, your experienced nature guide will help you determine eatable options. Besides being an adventure for the senses, a hike through the varied terrain amidst unspoiled nature is also the best possible exercise. The berries nurtured by the midnight sun are also healthy, and can be eaten just as they are when you find them.

We take a ride to secret berries’ & mushrooms’ place to be ready to pick up these healthy gifts of nature. During our walk we fill up our baskets and of course taste some berries. We will have a break and taste some local snacks with coffee and juice. Trip is suitable also for families with children.

The best picking season for most mushrooms and berries runs from late July to early October.

Experience Lapland with the most popular winter activities! During this day-long tour you will have the chance to meet two of the most famous animals living in Lapland, reindeers and huskies, visit Santa Claus and have unforgettable snowmobile ride in the Lappish nature. 

The adventure begins at the local reindeer farm where you'll meet these magical creatures, and you'll hear stories about them and the herder's life. Afterwards, we invite you to an enchanting sleigh ride and during the break you can taste typical hot drinks and sweet cookies in a warm traditional hut. After completing this activity you'll receive our special reindeer license. 

Later, at the husky farm, you will meet the lovable and cuddly huskies! These dogs have a sweet personality and are looking forward to pulling your sleigh.
